FAQs

According to NFPA 25, all water-based fire sprinkler systems must be inspected on a monthly, quarterly, annual, and five-year schedule. A certified technician from Fire Systems can perform your inspections on your schedule and provide the required documentation for full code compliance.
If you’re dealing with leaking pipes, damaged sprinkler heads, corrosion, or a failed inspection requiring corrective action, it’s important to hire certified fire protection professionals to perform the necessary repairs. Prompt repairs help maintain system reliability, ensure code compliance, and avoid potential fines or safety risks.
Fire Systems designs and installs fire sprinkler systems tailored to your building’s specific needs. We start by evaluating your facility and recommending the best system to meet local code, insurance, and fire department requirements. Our team manages the entire process, from permitting and design to inspections and repairs.
If you’re renovating your building, changing the type of hazard being protected, or accommodating a change in occupancy, fire codes require that your sprinkler system be modified to match the new layout or use. Fire Systems specializes in sprinkler system expansions and retrofits to keep your system up to code and properly configured. Our team will assess your space, design the necessary changes, and handle all permitting, installation, and inspection requirements to ensure full compliance and protection.
There are three main types of sprinkler systems outside of specialized systems. These include wet, dry, and pre-action/deluge systems.
No. In most systems, only the sprinkler head exposed to high heat will activate and release water. Each head operates independently when its heat-sensitive element (bulb or link) reaches a specific temperature. The exception is a deluge system, where all sprinkler heads release water at once, but only when activated by the fire alarm system and not by heat at the sprinkler head.

The State of Georgia follows the NFPA 25 tagging system to indicate the condition of your sprinkler system:

  • Green Tag – The system is in full compliance with NFPA 25 and state regulations.
  • Yellow Tag – The system has one or more deficiencies that must be corrected to maintain compliance. It remains in service but may not function properly if issues aren’t resolved.
  • Red Tag – The system is out of service and requires immediate attention.
Repairs to the fire sprinkler system should not impact your domestic water, as sprinkler systems are required to have a dedicated water supply. However, in rare cases, if repairs extend beyond the main supply control valve, the entire water supply to the property may need to be temporarily shut down.
